Ok, thats Enz, I guess this means these are on the way already. Typically we tend to get the pieces around 8 weeks after you. You should get an edition number below 50 I reckon.
I really am looking forward to your in-hand shots of this one. I am most interested to know how the Don attaches to the chair.

I can answer this for you Anz. CM told me by email on the 15th of Jan:
"As for the Godfather, we're trying something new and the chair is acting as his base.
It will still come with a nameplate that you can place to your liking."

So what u see on the website is what u will be getting, that should be cool, I just want to stay consistent with my collection,a base may be easy to make with carpet like the ss version

Just thinking about this now. I took a look at the opening scene from the GF. Here you can see that there is wood panel flooring, and a rug (Italian I guess), which forms the inspiration for the carpet on base of the SS PF.

I think it will be quite diffiuclt to miniaturise the rug's patterned effect down to 1/3. although the guy who makes the acrylic cases for me over here does run a second business that sells items fr doll's houses so he might be able to help.
What might be more effective is to get a minature flooring effect made for the base. The floor in the movie looks to be Oak Parquet:

Which I suppose could be achieved with small stained strips of Balsa wood.
    Food for thought I guess.

this will be quite a fun project, but with the right tools should be fairly easy to assemble, and would help it fit in better with the other cm's IMHO offcourse, to me the inconsistencies of some bases and some no bases I am not to fond of, I like consistency in my collection as far as scale etc... I wonder if there are anymore future releases coming without the bases

Yes what you see is what you get.
I also want to stay consistent with the rest of my collection. As such, I am also thinking about a base, along the lines of the original size and design used for Aragorn, Jack etc. except with carpet on. Given that they are supplying a nameplate it should be easy to modify and attach.
I don't see it being that difficult to get a base made by somebody who knows what they are doing. Material wise this could be made out of a solid piece of polished and varnished antique mahogoney or walnut.
    I am really excited now!

Great minds think alike jet, I am wondering perhaps if u r able to purchase from cm maybe a sparrow base. that would be pretty easy to modify, I think, I will inquire about this once it comes in. Also wondering if the chair would be to big to fit on that size base may have to step it up to a Indy size base. I guess it will have to be in hand to find out

Great idea on the Sparrow base Enz. If you enquire with CM about this tell them there will be at least one other person interested in this option (me).
You also have a good point about the size of the base. I always assumed, probably wrongly, that this would fit on a Sparrow size CM base. Looking at the piece now I can see that it probably won't be possible to fit it on this size of a base without displaying him at an angle diagonal to the base. If I want to display him straight on it will require a deeper base like Indy. So this is something to keep in mind.

the hieght is what I am affraid of, without the base it is inconsistant I like the fact that all the cm have the same size bases as far as height looks like they r all standing on even ground, I really want to stick with this level of height, I will try and find a way, I will have to wait until I get it and tincker with different bases, then I will contact cm and see waht type of bases the hace lying around, because if he fit on sparrow base it would be perfect with the wood feel, go to a carpet store pick up a piece and slap it on or repaint the wood to the lighter specs and slap on the godfather name tag and u r all set, I bet cm has some exta bases even the terminator bases wouls work cause there black, just hope it fits thats all
