Received my female T-rex bust. What a HUGE disappointment!
Take a look how they've attached and 'worked in' the lower jaw piece!
It's frightening to see them hiring masons now to do the job.
And the paintjob if truly horrible with almost no nuances and an avalance of black dots!
This atrocity is going straight back from where it came.
I have a hard time believing this female T-rex bust is coming from a Toynami factory.
All those high quality Toynami products from ECC & CC are telling me otherwise.
It would be a shock if the bust indeed came from a Toynami factory but then I remembered the Genisys 1/4 endo debacle... which actually explains a lot.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if many of the JW/JP pieces are produced in lesser quality factories, just like the TG endo was.
Can you imagine how the upcoming ECC Mohawk Gremlin (with all these patterns & dots) would look like if they've painted it with the same level of 'artistry' as the female T-rex bust?
My approach with CC's JP pieces will be one of 'waiting and see' until the production piece hits collector's hand.I just can't trust them anhymore to be placing pre-orders blindly.
Don't look to good in those pics Phil, as for the paint I cant say any of my ECC maquettes have a bad paint job even the earlier ones eg the reaper .
This female T-rex bust should have been a 'flagship' piece considering the origins of it.
She's almost one brown colour with practically no nuances and those black dots are giving it a very amateurish finish.
Such a shame.
Phil will you touch it up ?
No,no...I've send it back for a refund.
The bust would require a complete repaint + it's a lost sculpt with those ugly seams.
Not acceptable for such an expensive bust.
CC's JW/JP pieces are getting worse with every new production release...my goodness that's a crappy paintjob,AGAIN!
Is Toynami still painting for Chronicle Phil ?
I couldn't say Otto cause Chronicle's CEO is full of ****...you can't believe one word this guy is saying. He will say anything and everything to sell his product.I think some of their bigger non-JP/JW pieces are probably being produced by Toynami.
These horrible paintjobs on the Breakout Rex,female Rex bust and now the Owen & Blue statue are supposedly done by the painters from the same company that gave us all these amazingly painted ECC /CM collectibles!!!I for one doesn't believe it one second. This guy has been caught lying before...remember how he told us with a straight face and for a very long time that the 1/4 TG endoskeleton was produced by Toynami until he couldn't hide it anymore...and all the false promises he made in the past upsetting many collectors.
I had to laugh really hard when he was telling in the latest FB live that the Rotunda Rex is THE Rex to have in your collection,"the rex to end all rexes" and that any other rex coming from Iron Studios or Prime 1 will pale in comparison paintjob-,detail-and accuratewise.I'm paraphrasing of course but this was basically his message while everyone knows how he fucked up the paintjobs on the previous rexes.Ahhhh...the arrogance of someone who lost touch with reality. But hey, apparently they are now using a new factory to paint their dinosaurs.NOW we will see something mindblowing!
Owen and blue the paint is terrible he must get cheap paint jobs to make more profit, and yes the CEO is very shonky in what he says and its not the first time.
Otto,it's the funniest thing...as we are discussing these CC matters there's a guy with inside information (apparently) coming forward on statueforum confirming that most JP/JW pieces from Chronicle are not done by Toynami. He says only the 1/1 raptor bust & compsognathus were produced by Toynami.
If true, that would indeed explain all those half baked production pieces.
If true why wouldn't Chronicle tell its customers the truth , all you need is this inside imformation to be true and hell no one trust you ever again poor business practice if you ask me.
When Chronicle started their business the CEO made a huge deal out of it that their products were manufactered by Toynami and how 'lucky' they were to go in business with the best factory in China. This was a major selling point for their products.Maybe he thought no one would figure it out as long as some of Chronicle's products are being produced by Toynami.
The fact that he has a new,"better" factory now to produce his dinosaurs tells me that Toynami was never involved to begin with, except for the 1/1 raptor bust.
This bust is night and day difference next to the low quality of the breakout rex and 1/5 bust.
Wow cant believe it.
It must be extremely embarrassing to be the head of Chronicle Collectibles these days...another AWFUL paintjob on their latest release.
Paul, please stop producing JP/JW collectibles...it is clear by now you can't deliver and you are destroying your reputation of a high end collectible company.Save the day and leave the dinosaurs to Prime 1.
I just can't believe that you would ship out this atrocity!WOW!
Those dots on that dino and those eyes on Owen wow , whats the excuse if any ?
Profit margin. I do think it all boils down how much CC wants to pay per unit and the factory they've used for production.
No way is Toynami sending these out of their factory.
CC's lame excuse for the poor quality on the breakout,T-rex bust, etc. = It's very difficult to paint a dinosaur.
Of course it's very difficult if you're cutting corners to maximise the profit.
I don't see Infinity Studios struggling with their wildlife pieces.
