i get my rex tomorrow ,
The face still has issues inmo the body is pretty cool but the stripes and darker areas to me stand out too much , I will be blending them in more
Nice video Raf thanks also like what you done with the cables .
What can I say guys? This is one piss poor paintjob on a very nicely detailed sculpt! The airbrush part is more than acceptable for a mass produced collectible but it is completely ruined by those brush strokes & dots!
To highlight the amateurism of how things were handled in production we're getting obvious seams around the forearms.
Toynami is no longer synonymous for high quality these days...it is clear to me that another Toynami factory is handling the ECC pieces...Can you imagine for one moment how the ECC Gremlin Mohawk will look like if it would get the same treatment?
Seen worse ,really don't think we are getting the full story of what is happening with these tings.
I think you're right Otto but it's pretty clear to me Toynami is producing the 'cheaper stuff '(read ' Chronicle Collectibles stuff ', which is still expensive btw) with a different 'approach'.Not the same love goes into these type of collectibles.
T-rex breakout and King Conan on throne are pretty damn awesome overall but both have issues that support what I'm saying.
Raf makes fixing these up look so easy...but in reality it's not unless you're a pro. It's a shame Chronicle's had so many let downs. The Rex does look okay to me though, good not great.
It's coming Dieter...
Slowly but surely...
First in hand pictures...looking superb imho
I would have bought it aswell if it wasn't for Paul's stupidness... ..cause let's face it, canceling Horus was one of the dumbest decisions I've ever witnessed in the hobby (the one version that would actually sell the best) reason is he still has 38 of the 200 Anubis pieces left unsold weeks before the item arrives in collector's hands...then he founds out that the rest of the Anubis pieces are selling practically overnight once people saw the quality of it.
Then to cater the high demand of a Horus piece he decides to produce 50 pieces 'in house' at double the cost for us Europeans...
"Just had time to unpack the head."
Looks good .
I really think some companies are all about the dollars and that includes shortcuts they take.

This is one beautifull piece!
" So I put my Horus mask together today. I looks great except for some problems.
1. The tassels are very hard to get on and don't line up very well. The metal peg on one broke off as soon as I put it in. Didn't even apply that much pressure.
2. The head doesn't go on well or snap into place. Just kind of hangs there loose. Not sure what the problem is. Would also be nice if the head was movable. The way it is displayed now you can't see the head very well (see 2nd pic). I would like the head to be looking down (like Anubis).
3. I thought these were going to come with some kind of certificate or card showing the number and edition size. There is a number on the inside of the mask (21) but I was suppose to get #14. I guess it doesn't really matter since it's just a number written on the inside. "
Somebody on SF made the comment that the head needs to go back more to have the right look as in the movie...the 'ears' and the head are indeed much closer to one another on the movie helmet.
Chronicle most probably overlooked it when they were transforming the Anubis helmet into the Horus version.
Are they going to blame toynami for the faults lol.
Looks pretty good in those pics.
Nope, there are no scapegoats left to blame on,lol...
Are you getting this one Phil ?
I'm not getting Horus Otto.
The helmet will roughly cost 3500,- euros. ($2000 + shipment on a palet + taxes + custom fees)...that's almost twice as much as Anubis!
Way too much money for a second SG helmet.
Yes that does add up.
