Reporting back for duty! The last six months have been plain craziness, so much to catch up on. Hope you're all doing well. First let me say congrats to all of you who received anything in the meantime, particularly IM and/or Hulk of course. I've just now started working for real on the collection room-to-be. Will keep this thread updated.
Wow lars! its my dream to have an attic room for my statue What is the size of the room? How long do you think it will takes to finish? Good works!
Oh nice there's some nice angles in there to direct mini LED mono point spot lites on featured pieces.
Thanks! Good to have you back, too. 10m x 5m minus the 2sqm staircase and it's pitched of course. Probably till fall/winter since I'm doing this more or less as a one-man-show and needs to be from the ground up (electrics, wall, floor, heating etc.). Replacing two windows might also set me back some. The place where men end up. After that it's only the sailing boat and do the Robert Redford. Yeah I have a studio light wire system prepared. Hope that'll work ok.
Well guys, been a long time yet again. Between ongoing house renovation work and becoming a dad early this year (), there just isn't much free time to spare right now, though I still do have an open preorder for the ECC Mohawk. The collection room, too, is still under construction since my wife pressured me to do the rest of the house first (why though!?) and had to rearrange things for the obvious nursery. That said, going through my unread eMail spam the other day, I happened upon a three-month-old eMail from Michel. Yep, the Michel who build a lot of stuff for Phil and did the phenomenal Studio Scale Star Destroyer for me. So any of you recall the Studio Scale Bird of Prey he took on from me in 2014/2015? Well, BOMBSHELL, he's laying on the finishing touches now after the project had stalled in 2017 and the better part of 2018. Seeing these pics come out of literally nowhere brought tears to my eyes. The sheer enormity of it... I just LOVE how he blended in what looks like really cool and realistic weathering while still preserving the characteristic cartoonish coloration overall. And, yes, engine will feature warp flickering animation. It's about ready, guys!
Congrats Lars, both on becoming a father and the imminent acquisition of your Bird of Prey! The paintjob looks great, and the model absolutely humongous! What's the wingspan of this beast?
Hi Dieter and thank you! Wingspan is about 1,5m fully expanded. It'll be another pickup in Belgium (trailer? ). You might be able to check it out yourself.
Ever happened upon a random banner on Statue Forum and ended up buying stuff on the spot? Something about that very special feeling of waiting in line at the customs office I guess.
In other news, Michel and I came up with a base design for the Klingon BoP. As some on here have suggested, we didn't want to distract from the model too much so we went with a lean & clean look. What you see is a wood cut with painted metal cut inlets, hence the reflections and shine. Coming together now!
