My review of the HR Giger alien bust.
Thanks for the video review!
Awesome review now I want one EVEN more lol
That thing is pretty damn cool.
It is.. But the details nowhere damn near the cinemaquette haha as u can see the last part of the vid i made a comparison
What would be best is the yoshihiko sano sculpt with the cinemaquette texture.
Cinemaquette was initially as sooth as the sano sculpt.
H.R. Giger asked George if The sculptor ( dunno if Giger knew Paul Komoda sculpted it at the time) if he could slim down the waist and add the molting skin texture...that is what you are seeing...molting skin.
That's the reason it appears so detailed...it's a beautiful effect.
The sano statue is based directly off the original statue in gruyere, but he did not include the molting skin from it...nor the elbow spurs or the wrist ribs.....
The cinemaquette would've been my centerpiece, but my focus is vader anyway, so my Roswell statue is my current centerpiece.
Add that molting skin and it'd be every bit as detailed as the cm...however sano's version is in a museum pose which a lot of folks dislike ...
That Sano piece is very impressive.
I just wish it were as big as the CM!
The bust is in 1/3 scale...now if only someone sculpted the rest of it....
The CM is the best IMO.
My Giger shrine
The half scale miniature Giger bust is such a beauty!Congrats.
RC,did you see the upcoming lifesize bust from Cool Props?
The sculpt is slightly different but they've copied the look of this half scale.
I don't expect it to have the same quality of the half scale miniature though.
