Witch-king & Frodo at Weathertop statue WIP (second prototype visible just to the right of the sculptor):
Not really digging it, looks like the horse is ice skating, LOL. I'll wait and see what Prime 1 comes up with...
Some impressions: Treebeard is gigantic. So much so that it doesn't really register in your mind as being related to the other pieces in the shop at all. Who the f can critisize minute paint details when the thing is over a friggin meter tall (j/k )? Too bad I'm not a fan of the Treebeard design in the movies nor of Merry and Pippin really, but, boy oh boy! Gandalf and Cart is just so quintessential Shire, it's hard not to like it. Plus I've taken a face close-up just for you, Phil! Gollum I still reeeeally don't like. Just looks pale and awkward to me, sorry. Maybe next life. Also great props in the cave, King Kong stands out here. And, please, please, please with sugar on top, release that rat monkey maquette from Braindead! Awhh! In the wake of the holiday, I did a buyback of the old Sideshow/Weta Aragorn statue for 150€ which I sold 10 years ago for somewhere around 600€. Funny how that works, lol. I'm also leaning towards getting Thrandruil on Elk (which is on display in the workshop, not the cave) and the Iron Dwarfs. Not sure if I'd keep both permanently, but they really stood out for me for some reason.
LOL,thank you for the close-up, ... it is baffling to say the least ...but hey ,there are people that nowdays are still buying the older SSW statues such as Aragorn,so what do I know... Awesome pics Lars, thanks for sharing.
Great pics. Thanks for sharing, Lars! I was actually contemplating selling mine. Shoot me an e-mail or PM if you're interested.
