I'm sorry Phil, my comment must have been mistakable. I'm totally on board with your perception of Sideshow's doing.

I guess I was just curious if Sideshow's (not your) ambivalence when it comes to applying these wildly fluctuating quality standards (or should I say business decisions?) drives you a little mad sometimes... talk about the lottery.

Bad choice of quotes on my part.:love:

 Sorry Lars I completely misunderstood your quote... yes,Sideshow's business decisions are baffling from time to time.
And it seems they are not much affected by anything. At least they know now how the majority of collectors feel about plastic statues, lol.Won't change a damn thing going forward imo as many will still be buying, regardless.
Aside from the plastic debacle Sideshow's products have always been a lottery due to the availabillity of top tier factories producing their stuff. It's just an overwhelming amount of stuff with high edition sizes each and every year to produce. So they need to make a choice which products they want to give to their top tier factories(which comes with a higher price tag) and which can be done by lesser ones. It's sad but it's true.Jerry from PCS was talking about the fact that there are only a dozen factories left in China which can deliver high quality products and everybody wants to get in.Apparently Sideshow sees their Court of the Dead line as very special and it gets indeed the 'royal' treatment.

CotD seems to have been well received indeed. The fact that they pulled it off at prices similar to their other PF's sans the licensing fees goes to explain the darling status it now occupies for them. It's good to see that this also benefits the customer to an extend in the form of better product. It's not that they didn't try before with their own creations but this is arguably the first time it has legs.

It's funny to observe how that works for the both of us. ;)

Kudos to Sideshow for sculpting all the details (pistons, vertebral column, etc) in the chest area.

It's incredible the amount of stuff this guy receives every other day (it seems).
He also purchased a brand new yellow with black stripes Camaro in 2017...you know the 'Bumblebee' car.
The guy must be loaded. All this stuff costs a fortune.Maybe he runs his own gym or something?

Mental and yet he still has a reputation for ripping people off. He wanted to buy my ECC Reaper bust but I was warned to never do business with him.

Lsf C-3PO...quality -wise it's PF standard, nothing more nothing less... shouldn't be the case if you're charging $2000 (2300 euro in the EU)

Luckily, for us Predator fans, we have Prime 1 to look forward to.
Looking at their 1/3 Alien Dog maquette I have no doubt they will nail their Predator releases aswell.
Prime 1 cares and I couldn't care less about Sideshow not caring. lol

They should also give up the Alien & Terminator licenses.
In retrospect I have never been blown away by any of their releases.
They had some OK releases such as the Alien Warrior 1/4 maquette and the first P1 maquette (in conjunction with Winston) but that's about it.

    True.
That is exactly why they don't bother to listen at constuctive feedback and make the necessary changes to please the hard core fans of those franchises.
It's all about the money making business because putting extra energy in changing the sculpt into more accurate renditions means less profit.
And they will come up with all sorts of imaginations to defend their mediocre releases.
