Shipping company called and claimed they had a "Stahltür" for me out for delivery which would be a steel door. Turns out they missread Statue for Stahltür, lol. Told them they may call it whatever they want as long as they treat the package like a statue and not a steel door, lol.

 

Came in today. Will unpack at the weekend.

First impressions:

Happy to report there's no shipping damage on #191. No particular issues with the fitting. All parts came together smooth and nicely, though I do add some grease to the metal pins by default, especially when they're as massive as in this case. There does remain a slight seam of no more than 1mm which really amounts to a non-issue.

As is so often the case, I've seen a fair share of overexposed pictures where he does look a little on the plasticky side and with little detail especially in the chest area. Luckily the overall in-hand experience is much closer to what you see in the prototype pictures rather than the current in-hand shots on the forums. If you appreciated the CM Pred, you will surely like this one, too.

There's a subjective preference of how much gloss should be added to these kind of characters and ECC/the factory remains firmly on the conservative side of things, though there are vast areas where you do have the glossy look which makes the paint nuances pop. The upshot is that there's also parts with a very dry leathery look to them which I happen to like.
If you do feel that it needs to be more shiny, just add another coat of clear gloss. Much easier to do than the other way around.
And, yes, there's of course no such thing as having too many layers of detail so kudos to Raf for once again going the extra mile.

Now, the one thing that totally bugs me out is the absence of a power connector. My understanding of what is needed is just a regular old power adapter that operates with your domestic power grid and the transformer is build into the base? Not wanting to fry anything...

 

So, Otto, you simply hooked him up to the 230V mains? No transformer required?

Btw I'm officially an idiot because there is in fact a power supply in the box, but it was tucked into a styrofoam departement on the backside of one of the inlets.

Now all I need is an adaptor for the domestic power outlets which I have on order.
