Phil, what do you make of the new portraits for the Medusa /w legs?
To be honest I'm not very impressed with these new portraits either, but that's just me my friend.
Lars, now that a 1/3 ECC Medusa is a good possibillity wouldn't you rather wait to see how this one turns out...yeah,I know price will likely be twice as much but quality will probably not be comparable either...
Clearly I have missed a lot of news over the last couple of months. The 1/3 is supposed to be from ARH or another manufacturer?
As for the 1/4, I went back on my word and ended up not ordering. The overly convoluted base (that fleeing soldier in particular) + price considerations (additional portraits would have helped) was what turned me off ultimately.
A pity really since, to me, 1/4 would be just right for this character.
DD is looking very good there. Very excited to see this in your collection.
The 1/3 would be from Wang's company ECC ,( if it gets made )...apparently there was a lot of buzzing on FB about a possible 1/3 maquette.Wang said there's a good possibillity he will release a FS maquette in the future...imo he would be nuts not to release a maquette after seeing how well the 1/1 bust did in sales...it's the first time I've seen such an expensive non-movie collectible being sold out so fast.
Same feeling here Lars...in the case of this new ARH Medusa less would have been more...plus not really a fan of those faces.
Thanks Phil, I've found it now in the ECC thread and the Medusa bust really turned out stunningly. Anything that distracts Wang from Underworld is good news in my book.
On the other hand, I think the realization has sunk in that about 1.5k€ is my personal pain threshold for any regular statue. And that doesn't seem to be buying me a lot anymore these days.
Prices are crazy...2600 euros for a regular 1/3. I'm glad there are still a few affordable ECC pieces out there. Not for everyone but as a fan of CEOTK I never would have thought I would see a collectible from that movie.I have to praise Wang for this....who else would ever release a 'Puck' alien?I also like his latest original 1/1 bust 'Bast-Et' which looks like a crossing between an alien and the egyptian cat-goddes.Never liked the previous bust in this line( gray alien) for some reason.Hoping this line continues with a pricing inbetween 500,- and 600,-
I fear a ECC Medusa release,lol...I know this will be mindblowing.
DDI production piece....looks great! Can't wait for this one and I'm hoping it comes in flawless...you know with ARH's he crappy styrofoam and all...
ughh WoW loving it also. If UPS droped that wooden crate with a forklift loaded with 3 boxes at my doorstep not only would my wife shoot me my in-laws would continue a few extra head shots.
Apparently the complete set-up is 95% solid and weighs a ton... according to Alex(Averone) which is probably a bit exaggerating, lol
...but as that poster on Mulder's wall says : "I want to believe!"
Wow its huge!!
Its 1/3 scale??
Love heavy statue!
1/4 scale Zhong...a horse in 1/3 would be enormous as would be its pricetag lol
Sauron is huge and this statue is taller than him...
Maybe the angle of pictures...
"ES is low - lower than what ARH wanted it to be, but you should not complain about low ES
Getting pics up from actual sample as soon as I can. I think you guys are going to be over the moon when you see it in person.
As heavy as a real horse, factory sample is extremely heavy. I have to say it again, extremely heavy statue.
If you have not saved up for shipping do it now, its coming very soon so if you need to pay it off go do it! Contact ARH Studios.
Shipping stryo could not be upgraded as planned. I tried, I really did ask for it, but the sales did not meet expectations. Im not going to get into the stryo debate, moving on.
On the other hand the thing is 99% solid cast, so you will not have any brake issues, very uncommon to have statues this heavy these days from any company, so I am very happy for this. Expect 3 big boxes and each part is well made and painted with plastic wrapping.
Excited again as I know the factory is getting ready to load these on a ship headed to the USA."
Reminds me of way-back when the Ringwraith on Steed was released.
When are you expecting?
